Balos Beach

1. By boat:

2. By car:

You can drive from Kasteli Kissamos to a point near Balos, but the road is gravel and can be difficult for some cars. From where you will park, there is a fairly challenging hike to the beach that can take about 20-30 minutes. The view from the top of the trail is amazing and worth it, but be aware that the return is uphill. Balos beach is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and exploring. If you plan to visit, be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and sun protection, as the area can get very hot during the summer.
